A card game for winter time

With this game, long winter afternoons are twice as much fun - while making it and while playing it.  You can buy ready made blank cards in an average arts and crafts shop. Sticking the pictures on is a quick job. And then you can start to play.

  • blank cards
  • craft paper, various colours
  • foam rubber pre-cut parts
  • Pritt Magic Stick
  • Pritt PVA Craft Glue

  • pencil
  • scissors

For parents/adults:

Even the littlest players can make the game without any help. Older children can also design their own pictures.

Step 1

Choose how many cards you want to have in the game. You need an even number because each card has to appear exactly two times in the game. Place two blank cards on a piece of coloured paper and draw around the outline with a pencil. Choose a different colour for each pair.

Step 2

Carefully cut out the squares with a pair of scissors. Stick them on the blank cards. The Pritt glue stick is particularly good for that. Make sure that the corners are well stuck down.

Step 3

Then stick the foam rubber pre-cut parts on the card pairs with the Pritt craft glue. Don't forget that each design has to appear twice, otherwise the game won't work. Once the glue is dry you can start the game.

Tips and tricks:

You can increase the level of the game by sticking the same design on different coloured backgrounds. Then it can get confusing when you turn over the cards. Watch out!
